The idea behind the MD Flamenco is to take the tradition of this instrument and bring that into modern perspective. This is not a cookie cutter Flamenco. Traditionally this instrument would be made out of Spanish Cypress with a Spanish Cedar neck. The Gypsies took the building methods of the Spanish style guitar and used what materials they had on hand, what was local and cheap, to create their instruments. Here at Marcus Daniels Luthiery we take this same philosophy and use what is available – in this case Sitka Spruce and maple – for our take on a Flamenco guitar.
